Community Safety Month in Boroondara

The City of Boroondara's Community Safety Month is held every October to remind us we all have a role to play in making our communities safe.

Each year, Council holds a range of activities and events to highlight how we can work together to keep our community safe. These are:

"The City of Boroondara is committed to improving the health, safety and wellbeing of all residents and creating a safe city where everyone can participate in community life."

"Assisting our community to be safe is a high priority for the City of Boroondara", said Mayor Cr Jane Addis.

While Boroondara falls below the Victorian average on crime statistics, more work needs to be done to reduce family violence.

"Unfortunately, family violence continues to be an issue in Boroondara, with 810 incidents reported in 2017-18, and we as a community cannot ignore this", said Cr Addis.
