Community To Rally For Flood Support

NSW Nationals

Nationals Member for Myall Lakes, Tanya Thompson, is calling on the community to show up in force at the Community Flood Rally in Taree this Monday, June 23, to demand urgent disaster funding from the NSW Government.

The rally is a call for Category D disaster support; funding that flood-affected families, farmers and small businesses across the Mid-North Coast and Hunter desperately need.

"Homes are ruined, farms are struggling, businesses are on the brink and while the floodwaters have receded, it seems like the government's support has disappeared with them," said Mrs Thompson.

The rally will take place at 12:00pm at the Manning River Rowing Club, Endeavour Place, Taree.

"Category D funding is essential for proper recovery," Mrs Thompson said.

"This region is incredibly resilient, but resilience alone doesn't pay bills or rebuild lives. We need action now.

"Bring your friends, your family and your voice. Let's make sure the government hears us loud and clear."

All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
