Creative kids are invited to put their talents to paper in the annual Cairns Regional Council Christmas e-Card Design Competition.
This year's theme is Celebrating Christmas Cairns Style - Happy & Hot! and the competition is open to residents of the Cairns region aged 13 years and under.
The competition will be separated into three age categories – 5 years and under, 6-9 years, and 10-13 years – with the three winners to be invited to switch on the lights on Cairns Esplanade Christmas Tree in December.
The design selected as the overall winner will become the official e-card for Cairns Regional Council.
"The card will be sent to people across Australia and the world as a representation of our region," Cr Manning said.
"E-cards are the most environmentally friendly way to deliver Christmas greetings and the most efficient to deliver.
"We receive many great entries each year from talented young artists and I'm looking forward to seeing what the students have to offer in 2019."
Entry forms are now available from Council's customer service offices, Cairns Libraries branches or to download on Council's website. Entries close 5.30pm, Friday 8 November.
