CONGRATULATIONS TO THE AUSTRALIAN COMMAND AND STAFF COURSE CLASS OF 2019
Congratulations to the members of the Australian Command and Staff Course (Joint) who graduated today from the Australian Defence College (ADC).
Over 180 personnel, including 51 international students representing 27 countries completed the course; a cohort including personnel from the Australian Defence Force (ADF), Australian Public Service (APS) and our international partners.
The graduates are now better intellectually prepared to fulfil a variety of command and staff appointments in Navy, Army and Air Force; as well as roles in joint, multi-national and inter-agency environments.
Commander ADC, Major General Mick Ryan AM, said the course not only equips the graduates intellectually for their new roles, but also builds enduring friendships and networks between officers in all three Services, Public Servant colleagues and international defence personnel.
"Through a robust Joint Professional Military Education curriculum, the ADC has equipped the Australian Command and Staff Course graduates with the intellectual capacity, influence skills and confidence to apply their knowledge in various roles as they move onto the next phase of their careers," Major General Ryan said.
"Graduates will embark on varied careers from this point on and I would like to stress the importance of continuing to nurture the professional relationships and friendships that have grown among the ADF officers, APS staff and international colleagues.
"These relationships underpin security in the Indo-Pacific and globally."
Australian Command and Staff Course (Joint) is year-long residential course, with the majority of graduates awarded a post-graduate degree in Military and Defence Studies from the Australian National University.
