Connect With Your Community This October

Feeling safe isn't just about our surroundings, it's about our wellbeing. When we connect with each other, we strengthen our community and create a safer place for everyone.

This October you can get involved in activities across the community for all ages.

  • Dads of newborns through to preschool age children are invited for pizza and a chat to share your experiences and gain confidence while navigating the challenges of early fatherhood. Tuesday evenings across October.
  • The 2025 Knox Seniors Festival runs across October. You can enjoy a band performance, workshops and classes.
  • Come along to the Knox Children's Week Event on Thursday 23 October. From babies through to preschool age, everyone is welcome.
  • Explore our Bayswater and Wantirna South Children and Family Centres on our free Discovery Day on Saturday 25 October.
  • Increase your understanding of family violence and learn what to do if someone tells you they are experiencing family violence by applying the 3Rs - Recognise, Respond, Refer. Join the 3Rs training on 23 October.
  • Discover proven strategies to improve sleep quality at our online webinar on 23 October.
  • For young people, the Haunted Theatre on 31 October and 1 November at Knox Community Arts Centre. Free entry to market site with food, stalls and live music. $10 to enter the Haunted Theatre maze (unlimited entry).

Council will also be at Knox Westfield's Community Safety Day on October 25, joining a fantastic lineup of community partners and attractions to promote safety and connection.

Come down between 10.30am and 2pm to say hello to Lottie the school crossing mascot, learn about pet ownership and emergency management, and enjoy children's craft activities. You can also meet Victoria Police, SES and Crime Stoppers. Paw Patrol will also be there along with face painters.

It's a great opportunity to learn about all things safety and connect with your local community!
