More than 200 local residents aged 60 and over came together in October for Council's series of complimentary luncheons, celebrating connection, community and the valuable contributions of older residents.
Across four events in Molesworth, Thornton, Strath Creek and Buxton, attendees enjoyed an afternoon of entertainment, conversation and delicious food. Each luncheon featured live music by Steve Paix, a catered meal, and plenty of opportunity to reconnect with friends and neighbours.
Adding to the fun, Council's Access and Inclusion Officer, Andrew Langley, hosted an entertaining round of trivia that had guests guessing, laughing and sharing stories throughout the afternoon.
The events, held as part of the Victorian Seniors Festival, brought people from across the Shire to honour the life experience, wisdom and community spirit of older residents.
Council extends its thanks to the venue hosts, Molesworth Hotel & General Store, Rubicon Hotel, The General – Strath Creek, and Buxton Hotel, for their warm hospitality and delicious meals.
The events also provided an opportunity to highlight My Aged Care
