Local families will soon have access to a new inclusive playspace at Glenfield Park.
Construction has now started on Variety Livvi's Place Glenfield, which has been designed in conjunction with Variety - the Children's Charity NSW/ACT and the Touched by Olivia Foundation.
The $2 million project is being funded by the NSW Government's Precinct Support Scheme as part of the Glenfield Planned Precinct.
"This new playground is the result of community collaboration and will be a fantastic place for families to socialise and for children to play," Mayor George Brticevic said.
"We are focused on providing more inclusive facilities such as this in our park and playground upgrade plans to support the health and wellbeing of our whole community," Cr Brticevic said.
The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment's Group Deputy Secretary of Place, Design and Public Spaces Alex O'Mara said the new playground will provide a fantastic new place to play for everybody, regardless of age or ability.
"Our open spaces and green infrastructure are vital to our physical and mental health and we are committed to ensuring our parks, playgrounds and public spaces are in place as communities grow," Ms O'Mara said.
Variety – the Children's Charity NSW/ACT Inclusive Play Manager Kim Becherand said Variety Livvi's Place playspaces provide an opportunity for all kids to play together.
"Variety Livvi's Place Glenfield is an exciting part of our mission to make play available to all kids within their local communities. We have worked with community groups and Council to design this incredible playspace together which will meet the needs of all in the community now and into the future," she said.
"We're very excited to be partnering with forward thinking communities, such as Campbelltown City Council, to begin changing the way public playspaces are built."

- Sandstone climbing areas
Construction on the project is expected to be complete by March next year.
