Continued appeal to identify protestor for flare incident

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses to identify a man after flares were released at a protest in Melbourne over the weekend.

Police are aware of several incidents where the flares were set off which endangered not only police but people in the vicinity of the incidents on Saturday 24 July.

Detectives continue to appeal for assistance to identify a man they believe will be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is believed to be aged in his thirties, of medium build with short brown hair. He was seen wearing a plain black t-shirt.

Detectives are no longer seeking assistance to identify another man and a woman following the release of their images earlier this week.

Police now have a number of follow up enquiries to make in relation to the pair.

Anyone who recognises the man, or with information about the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
