Briars Ward Councillor Anthony Marsh has been re-elected Mayor of Mornington Peninsula Shire, while Tanti Ward Councillor Paul Pingiaro will continue in the role of Deputy Mayor.

Both Councillors were returned to their positions at this week's Annual Council Meeting and will serve for the next 12 months, ensuring continuity and stability in the Shire's leadership team.

Cr Marsh expressed his gratitude to his family, fellow Councillors and Shire officers for their support over the past year and said he was energised for the work ahead.

"I've been incredibly privileged and humbled to serve as Mayor over the last 12 months and am proud of what we have delivered for our community - but there is still more to do," Cr Marsh said.

"I've loved getting out across our 40 townships and I thank the community for your kindness, trust and encouragement.

"Over the past year we've stabilised the organisation, undertaken a significant restructure, set clear strategic foundations, strengthened our financial position and put strong leadership in place to set us up for success.

"We live in the best part of the world and to be re-elected as Mayor is an honour I take with pride and dedication."
