Council invites the Cooma community to share their thoughts on local parks and recreational lands. Consultation on the draft Cooma Parks and Play Strategy is open now online until Sunday 30 August 2026, with multiple ways to have your say.

We want to understand how people use Cooma's parks and recreation land today, what makes a quality park, and what the community would like to see in the future.

Your feedback will help guide the direction for each site and the overall park network, so Council can plan parks and playgrounds that better reflect local preferences.

A survey is available now at https://qrco.de/CPPS26.

Council has also installed QR code signs at parks and playgrounds, that lets park visitors share their feedback about the places they visit and value most - a first for the region.

The strategy covers all existing parks and playgrounds in Cooma. We're also keen to hear what people would like to see happen with undeveloped land that is zoned for public recreation use.

It's important to note that this strategy does not include skate parks, sports fields, fitness equipment stations, or anything privately owned or operated, and respects existing memorials and monuments.

'Cooma's parks are important community spaces, and we want to make sure they continue to meet the needs of local families, young people and visitors into the future,' said Mayor Chris Hanna.

'I encourage everyone to take a moment to share what they value and what they'd like to see improved.'

Visit www.yoursaysnowymonaro.com.au or head down to your favourite park or playground to have your say today. Feedback closes Sunday 30 August 2026.
