Cooma's Commissioner St Causeway unsafe for pedestrians and cyclists

Residents and visitors to Cooma are reminded that the Cooma Creek Walk footbridge over Cooma Creek – northwest of Cooma Skatepark on Commissioner Street – has been washed away during recent floods.

Pedestrians and cyclists are urged to cross Cooma Creek via the Sharp Street bridge during the closure.

The causeway road is particularly dangerous due to poor visibility over the hillcrest on Commissioner Street.

Engineers are working on a replacement footbridge design that will be more resilient to future floods.

Once the design work is complete, Council will begin work on replacing the old bridge with the new design.

Council appreciates the community's understanding and patience.
