Coordinating Policy Responses to Global Food Crisis

First, we support the UN and Turkish efforts to broker agreement on the export of grain from Ukrainian ports. As the Secretary-General said last week, a ray of hope to bring stability to the global food system.

Second, we are focusing on the most acute needs. The risk of multiple famines this year, especially in Ethiopia, Somalia, South Sudan and Yemen, of grave concern, and focusing our bilateral aid there.

Third, working with key partners to ensure that fertiliser remains available for next year's harvest.

Overall, we are staying focused on the Sustainable Development Goals, and globally we are supporting the G7 Global Alliance for Food Security. We and our partners will remain committed to supporting and resolving this crisis.

I thank you, Mr President.
