COP26 postponed until 2021

The UK government has today confirmed that the UN climate change conference, COP26, due to be held in Glasgow in November has been postponed until 2021.

Helen Clarkson, CEO of the international non-profit The Climate Group, says: "The postponement of COP26 is, of course, sad but the UK Government and UN Climate Change have made the right decision in the circumstances. A huge international diplomatic effort is required to secure greater national commitments to deliver on the Paris Agreement and that is incredibly challenging right now. In the meantime, we know our networks of businesses and subnational governments will continue to drive the climate agenda."
