Core Service Rebranded as Policy Insights Unit

UK Gov

This name better reflects the team's work helping government develop analysis and ideas for policy.

The Open Innovation Team (OIT) has introduced a new name for its core policy service: the Policy Insights Unit.

The new name better reflects the work the team has delivered across government since 2016: helping departments develop high-quality analysis, ideas and advice for policy.

The Policy Insights Unit (PIU) operates like an in-house consultancy, working across government to deliver bespoke projects to suit the needs of each customer.

PIU will sit alongside other cost-recovery services developed by the OIT, including the Evaluation Services Unit, Systems Insight Team and AI Adoption Unit. For the time being, OIT will continue to be used as the overarching name for this growing suite of services.
