Coronavirus update for Victoria - Sunday 29 August 2021

Victoria was notified of 93 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. 92 were locally acquired cases and one is a returned traveller in hotel quarantine.

There are 778 active cases in Victoria - 773 locally acquired and five overseas acquired cases.

There are 44 COVID-19 cases in hospital in Victoria. 13 cases are in intensive care and nine cases are on ventilators.

The total number of confirmed cases in Victoria since the beginning of the pandemic is 21,926.

Vaccines

Yesterday, 31,436 vaccine doses were administered by Victoria's state-commissioned services yesterday.

The total number of doses administered through these services is 2,356,175.

The successful vaccination pop-up at St Kilda's Peanut Farm Reserve will be extended to September 2. Opening hours will continue at 9:00am to 5:00pm.
