At its Planning Services Committee Meeting on Monday 19 August 2019, Council adopted the Balnarring Township Structure Plan.

The Plan identifies urban design and transport concepts, with particular focus on upgrades to increase safety at key intersections, and enhanced pedestrian connectivity and safety, to strengthen the special character of Balnarring's township over the next 15 years.

The project began in late September 2018 with visioning workshops held with the community and targeted stakeholder engagement to identify the vision and themes to help develop the draft Balnarring Township Structure Plan.

Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor and Red Hill Ward Councillor David Gill thanked those community members who participated in providing their thoughts.

"We are pleased to have had such strong community and stakeholder involvement during the preparation of this essential Plan."

Councillor Gill said this was a great opportunity to work closely with residents to establish a robust and strategic structure Plan for the Balnarring community.

"The Balnarring Township Structure Plan will help us improve the township, as well enhance the attributes of Balnarring that are most valued."
