Council Adopts New Procurement Platform - East Gippsland

From December 2025, East Gippsland Shire Council will streamline the way it purchases goods, services, and works, with all major procurement to be managed through an online platform called VendorPanel.

VendorPanel connects Council and other organisations with suppliers of all sizes. The platform makes it easier for businesses to register, view opportunities, and submit proposals, while helping Council to ensure fair, transparent and consistent procurement practices.

To support local businesses, Council will host a series of information sessions next month, both online and in person, to demonstrate how VendorPanel works. These sessions will explain how to register, choose relevant service categories, and access opportunities. They are designed for businesses at every stage - from startups and sole traders to established operators.

The information sessions will be held on:

  • Tuesday 18 November 2025, 9.00-10.00 am - Bairnsdale Library Meeting Room (22 Service Street, Bairnsdale)
  • Friday 21 November 2025, 2.00-3.00 pm (online)
  • Tuesday 25 November 2025, 11.00 am-12.00 pm (online)
  • Thursday 27 November 2025, 9.00-10.00 am - Bairnsdale Library Meeting Room (22 Service Street, Bairnsdale)

To register your attendance, visit Council's website or contact us on (03) 5153 9500.

Mayor Cr John White said the move will simplify the procurement process, making it more consistent and easier for all suppliers to navigate.

"These sessions are an excellent opportunity for local businesses to learn how to work with us, discover procurement opportunities and understand compliance and transparency requirements," John said.

Registration on VendorPanel is free. Once registered, businesses can choose their relevant service categories and receive email alerts whenever new opportunities are published - either by Council or other organisations using the platform. VendorPanel is user-friendly and provides a clear overview of available opportunities.
