Residents in the Mt Atkinson area will no longer need to travel long distances to send or collect parcels, thanks to new parcel lockers now installed in their neighbourhood.
Melton City Council has partnered with Australia Post to deliver the lockers at the Mt Atkinson Children's and Community Centre, providing a more convenient option for residents to send and receive parcels close to home.
The lockers were delivered in response to community feedback to Council, with residents from the Mt Atkinson Estate in Truganina needing to travel to Hoppers Crossing for postal services and parcel collection.
The new parcel lockers are free to use and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, offering residents greater flexibility and access to essential services.
Residents can opt in to use the service by nominating parcel locker delivery when shopping online, or by selecting the Mt Atkinson locker location via the Australia Post App or website.
