Council has reaffirmed its support for the next edition of Cairns Tropical Writers Festival with a $20,000 commitment.
Last year, Council endorsed a $20,000 sponsorship for the event, which was due to be held in March 2025.
However, organisers advised Council in late 2024 that the event would be postponed until 2026.
Established in 2008 and organised by Cairns Writers Festival Inc, the event brings together Cairns' community of writers and readers as well as attracting presenters and visitors from across the country.
The 2024 event attracted 4,114 attendees across 82 sessions, with 108 presenters.
