Local contractors are encouraged to apply for Wingecarribee Shire Council's Plant and Equipment Hire Tender (Tender No. T-2022-23) via the NSW Government's e-tendering website.

Council's Director Corporate Strategy and Resourcing, Ms Carmel Foster, explained the purpose of the contract.

"We're looking to establish a panel of contractors with access to a range of high-quality plant and equipment available for hire," she said.

"This will reduce administrative and financial burdens to support the delivery of works and services across the Shire."

The tender includes wet and dry hire as well as material and plant haulage for a minimum one-year contract period. A possibility to extend the contract also applies.

Ms Foster is encouraging local businesses to consider submitting a tender.

"Small businesses with one or two employees up to larger organisations with specialist equipment and experience are all encouraged to throw their hat in the ring.

"Remember too that local contractors are given an automatic weighted preference."

Tender documents are available via either the NSW Government's e-tendering website or Council's website at wsc.nsw.gov.au/Council/Tenders-Expressions-of-Interest.
