As the City of Canada Bay wraps up its Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2020-2025, we're looking ahead to the future of accessibility and inclusion.
The Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) is a four-year plan that outlines how Council will help make the area a better place for people living with disability
"As a community, we are at our best when everyone can participate, contribute, and belong. Our next Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2026-2030 is a vital step toward making the City of Canada Bay even more accessible and inclusive for all," said City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna.
Council is currently seeking input as we develop the new DIAP to guide our work in improving access to Council venues, information, services and employment. The document also covers how Council will promote the right of people living with disability.
"We want to ensure that the voices of people with disability, their families, carers and advocates are at the heart of this plan. Your ideas and experiences will help shape the actions we take over the next four years to build a City where everyone can thrive," Mayor Megna added.
Take a look back at what we have achieved as part of our current DIAP below and visit our Collaborate page to take a short survey and contribute to the new plan. Everyone who completes the survey goes in the draw to win a $100 gift voucher. Feedback closes 7 December, 2025.
