Council facilities reopening following easing of COVID-19 restrictions

Following the Premier's announcement of the easing of COVID-19 restrictions and return to COVIDSafe Summer directions, Council facilities will reopen from 11.59pm tonight (Wednesday 17 February).

The following facilities will reopen:

  • Customer Service Front Counter at Bayside Corporate Centre - 76 Royal Avenue Sandringham
  • Brighton, Sandringham, Hampton and Beaumaris libraries
  • Community halls and facilities including Seniors Centres, Men's Sheds, and Community Centres
  • Bayside Gallery.

Please wear a mask while attending an indoor Council building and do not visit us if you are feeling unwell or have been tested for COVID-19 and are waiting on a test result.

Revised restrictions from Thursday

Some revised restrictions will remain in place from Thursday 18 February.

Masks must be carried at all times. Masks are mandatory when inside (except in a residential home) and outdoors when cannot maintain 1.5m physical distancing (unless a lawful exemption applies).

Some restrictions on social gatherings will apply:

  • Public gatherings: Up to 20 people can gather outdoors from any number of households, infants under 12 months are not included in the cap.
  • Visitors to the home: Up to 5 visitors can visit a home in a day (infants under 12 months are not counted in the cap). Visitors may be from any number of households and may visit either together or separately. Front and backyards are considered part of the home.

Testing

If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you should get tested.

The closest testing sites are at Sandringham Hospital (walk up) and Brighton Golf Course (drive through) - see location details.
