Edward River Council is inviting locals to dive into summer fun at its new Community Pool Party, a free family-friendly celebration all about coming together and enjoying what makes our community great.
The Deni Pool will be the place to be on Sunday 25 January from 6pm, with free pool entry, kids' games and activities, pizza, music, and an outdoor movie screening to round out the night. It will be relaxed, social, and open to everyone.
Mayor Cr Ashley Hall said the event is about creating easy, welcoming ways for people to connect.
"This is one of those nights where you can just turn up, cool off, and enjoy being part of our community," Cr Hall said.
"It's free, it's family-friendly, and it's all about having a bit of fun together. We're encouraging everyone to come along, bring their family and friends, and enjoy a great summer evening at the pool."
From 6pm, swimmers can jump in for a splash and enjoy the inflatables, kids can get stuck into games and activities, and families can grab pizza while enjoying music by the pool. Then atsunset, the evening winds down with an outdoor screening of the animated favourite "Home" under the stars.
Cr Hall said the Community Pool Party was designed to be easy and relaxed, an event where the whole community feels included.
"We know that not everyone in our community wants to participate in Australia Day activities on the 26th. So this event has been designed in collaboration with community members to be an inclusive, informal evening at one of our most loved venues. No tickets, no cost, no speeches, just a chance to spend time together."
