Goulburn Mulwaree Council has progressed to the final stages of appointing a new General Manager following an Extra Ordinary Council Meeting held on Tuesday, 3 June 2025. Councillors received and noted the outcomes of a rigorous interview process for the position.
Council resolved to offer the role to the preferred candidate, as outlined in a confidential Mayoral Minute. The Mayor, in consultation with the appointed recruitment consultant, has been authorised to negotiate and finalise the terms of appointment. The role will be offered under a three-year, performance-based contract consistent with the standard General Manager contract in New South Wales.
The total remuneration package, including salary, superannuation, vehicle use under a novated lease or leaseback, and other negotiated benefits, will be finalised during discussions. Relevant Council policies relating to vehicle, phone, and laptop use will be included in the contract.
The identity of the successful candidate will remain confidential until the offer is formally accepted in writing. Should the preferred candidate decline, the second-ranked applicant will be offered the position under the same terms.
Council will continue to uphold confidentiality throughout the recruitment process.
