Orange City Council has amended its service delivery with a focus on keeping the community and workforce COVID safe and maintaining those critical services that keep the city running.
Orange Mayor Reg Kidd said if residents followed the rules during the 7 day lockdown the city could turn this around.
"This is a critical time and following the orders will be the best opportunity for keeping the city safe and getting through this lockdown," the Mayor said.
"This will be disruptive but if we stay COVID safe, stay home and where necessary get tested we can limit those disruptions and more importantly keep people well."

The following Council venues will be closed to the public:
- Civic Centre
- Visitor Information Centre
- The Aquatic Centre
- Orange Regional Museum
- Orange Regional Art Gallery
- Orange Regional Library
- Yarrawong Childcare Centre
- Ticketek Office
- Recovery Shop at Ophir Road Resource Recovery Centre (the centre is still open for routine waste disposal)
The Yarrawong Childcare Centre is closed due to a close contact of educators and close secondaries. Where this impacts on essential workers, Council is looking at alternative child care to ensure these essential workers can continue delivering essential services. However this does not extend to children that were in the same room as the close contact educator.
Courallie, Spring Street and Occasional Care childcare centres are still operating as is the Caravan Park.
