Council services over Christmas and New Year 29 November


Council’s administrative offices at Nowra and Ulladulla will be closed over the Christmas and New Year period, from Saturday, 24 December 2022 to Monday, 2 January 2023 inclusive.

Council offices will reopen for business at 8.30am on Tuesday, 3 January 2023.

During the Christmas closure, residents and visitors can call the after-hours helpline on 4429 3111 for general Council assistance or browse our website for answers to common queries.

Visit the links below for the latest information on altered services over the holiday period:

  • Waste and Recycling Depots – please visit the waste and recycling web page prior to travel for the latest open hours for each Depot. During the December and January holidays each year yellow-lid recycling bins are collected weekly instead of fortnightly.

  • Shoalhaven Visitor Information Services – Nowra and Ulladulla Visitor Information Services closes at 4pm, Saturday 24 December and on the public holidays over holiday period. For enquiries, call the Visitor Information team on (02) 4421 0778, or visit them in their temporary location at the Nowra Administration building, Bridge Rd, Nowra. Ulladulla Visitor Information Services is available in person at the Civic Centre, Ulladulla on the Princes Highway.

  • Bereavement services – Office closed on weekends and public holidays.
