Council Urges Local Residents to Reduce COVID-19 Risk

Shoalhaven City Council is urging local residents to follow NSW Health advice to help reduce the transmission of COVID-19 in the Shoalhaven.

With regulations preventing more than two people to socially gather coming into effect on Tuesday 31 March, residents should only leave their home for the following:

  • food or other essential goods and services

  • work or education, but only if a remote option is not possible

  • medical or caring reasons.

Although exercise is considered an acceptable reason to be outdoors, Council is reminding sporting groups and organisations that outdoor group exercise is no longer possible. Only two people who are not from the same household can exercise together to meet the updated social distancing requirements.

If residents do go out they must not gather in public and must stay 1.5 metres away from other people at all times.
