Council welcomes new Library Coordinator

Snowy Monaro Regional Council is excited to announce Sarah Fayers has joined our team as the new Coordinator Library, bringing 20 years of expertise and a whole host of fresh ideas to make our region's libraries even better.

Working in line with lockdowns and limitations on travel, Sarah has now relocated to the Snowy Monaro. Having spent the last decade working in library management, her experience will be a major asset for our libraries as they deal with the restrictions imposed by COVID-19 public health orders and the new Jindabyne Library project.

"I'm very pleased to welcome Sarah to our Council and to our region," said Mayor Peter Beer. "There's no doubt that she has big shoes to fill. But with her very impressive résumé and many years of experience, I've have every confidence she is going to make a wonderful addition to our libraries in this difficult time."

Sarah's appointment comes following the departure of long-time coordinator Pam Veiss in July of this year, and fills a crucial vacancy at a time where our library services are facing unprecedented challenges.

Successive public health orders have seen libraries close to the public, and updated advice from the NSW State Library has meant that the 'Click & Collect' program - implemented during the 2020 lockdown - has had to be scrapped.

Faced with this setback, Snowy Monaro Regional Library acted quickly to implement the newly approved option, the 'Click & Deliver' home delivery service, available to anyone, anywhere within our 15,000km2 local government area.

Sarah and the team have been busy hitting the road with books in tow, and the many miles already covered in the trusty red Corolla have ensured our community continues to have access to our library services.

To take advantage of these services, residents must become members of our Snowy Monaro Regional Library. You can do this online at https://www.snowymonaro.nsw.gov.au/1756/Library-Forms-and-Application

To access the Click & Deliver program, existing library members can:
