Murrindindi Shire Council has received funding through AusNet's Energy Resilience Community Fund for the purchase of a trailer-mounted mobile generator. This new generator will strengthen our emergency preparedness and community resilience across the Shire, so our communities are better equipped to respond to and recover from severe weather events, natural disasters and prolonged power outages.
Recent storms and floods have highlighted the vulnerability of our region, with many communities experiencing extended outages and isolation. From early next year, the mobile generator will provide flexible, reliable backup power for Emergency Relief Centres helping keep essential services running when they are needed most.
