A woman has been charged and counterfeit money has been seized in Sydney’s west at the weekend, NSW Police say.
Just after 2pm on Saturday (1 September 2018), police from the Penrith Proactive Crime Team attached to Nepean Police Area Command attended a home on Kington Place, Cranebrook, after receiving information about the manufacture of counterfeit money.
Police spoke to the occupant before searching the house.
During the search, police located more than 20 counterfeit $50 notes, and printing paraphernalia.
A 25-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Penrith Police Station and charged with possess identity info to commit indictable offence, possess counterfeit money (not expected counterfeit coin), make counterfeit money or prescribed security, and resist officer in execution of duty.
The woman was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday (2 September 2018) where she was refused bail to reappear at the same court on Thursday 6 September 2018.
