Two people have been charged over the alleged murder of a man in Sydney's south west at the weekend.

About 3.20pm on Saturday (12 January 2019), police were called to a home in Eureka Crescent, Sadlier, after the body of an unidentified man was found inside.

He is believed to be a 40-year-old Minto man.

A crime scene was established, and a number of items were seized and taken for forensic examination.

Strike Force Higherdale, comprising detectives from Liverpool City Police Area Command and the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, has been formed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man's death.

Following inquiries, just before 2am yesterday (Sunday 13 January 2019), a 38-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman – believed to be known to the man – were arrested at a home unit on the Hume Highway at Warwick Farm.

Early this morning (Monday 14 January 2019), the Sadlier man was charged with murder and the Warwick Farm woman was charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

The couple were both refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today.

Inquiries continue.
