Couple Injured in East Narrabri Break-In

A couple have been injured after they were confronted by two masked intruders who broke into their East Narrabri home last night.

About 3.20am this morning (Sunday 8 June 2025), a 29-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were awoken by a flashing light inside their Barwan Street home.

When they went to investigate the source of the light, they were confronted by a male dressed in black. As they wrestled and tried to push the male towards the front door, a second male inside the house appeared and was also wrestled towards the front door by the man.

After pushing one of the males outside, the male re-entered the house and assaulted the couple with an unknown weapon, causing lacerations to the head of the man and to the shoulder and upper body of the woman.

The offenders then fled on foot and police were contacted.

Officers from Oxley Police District attended and commenced an investigation into the incident and established a crime scene.

As investigations continue, police are appealing to members of the East Narrabri community if they find any foreign gardening equipment in their front yards, to contact police as it might be associated with the break and enter offence.

Anyone with information about the aggravated break and enter is asked to call Narrabri Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
