Acting Assistant Commissioner Wurst said, "There are several Chief Health Officer Directions that must still be followed for the next seven days.

"As well as being COVID safe, we need to also ensure we are safe when out and about this afternoon and across the weekend, particularly if we are going to licensed premises.

"We also can now freely travel on our roads beyond the previous restriction zone. Unfortunately we lost the lives of two Territorians on our roads during lockdown. As we venture out, please drive safely, drive to the conditions and, as it is expected there will high volumes of vehicle traffic in certain areas such as our National Parks, please consider other road users.

"Police will maintain a high visibility presence on our roads and in our community to ensure COVID compliance is being maintained and our road users are safe. "Enjoy the weekend and stay safe."
