A new Pfizer vaccination clinic will open in Hobart's northern suburbs and one in Burnie for eligible Tasmanians.
The Moonah community clinic will operate from Your Church, 80 Main Road, Moonah (the old Coogan's building) on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from June 10. It is expected to deliver around 350 vaccinations per day.
The Burnie clinic will operate from the Burnie Surf Life Saving Club on June 20-22, June 27-29 and July 4-6, from 9am to 3.45pm.
Appointments for both clinics are available to be booked now for the following people:
- Anyone aged 40-49;
- People 16-39 living with disability or underlying medical conditions;
- NDIS recipients and their carers (paid or unpaid);
- Frontline healthcare, aged care and disability support workers; and
- Critical and high-risk workers (refer to coronavirus website for full list of eligible workers).
All aged care and disability workers are particularly urged to come forward.
Victoria's current community outbreak is a wake-up call for Tasmanians to get vaccinated.
Vaccination is an important way to protect you, your family and the community against COVID-19, particularly when there is the risk of undetected COVID-19 in the community.
The more people that get vaccinated, the more chance we have of beating coronavirus and returning to a more normal way of life.
Tasmanians should be incredibly proud of themselves for their eagerness to get vaccinated, but the job is not done. The Government wants to ensure we continue leading the nation on our COVID-19 vaccination rates.
The message is a simple one: don't wait, vaccinate - and we're asking every Tasmanian to get behind our vaccination effort.
