COVID-19 restrictions reinstated

On Monday the Victorian Department of Health announced that there were four new cases of COVID-19 in Melbourne's Northern Suburbs as a result of community transmission. As a result, a number of new restrictions have been put into effect from 6:00pm Tuesday 25 May for residents who live in Greater Melbourne.

Residents who live in the Macedon Ranges and travel to Greater Melbourne for work or other purposes, are also required to follow these restrictions while in Greater Melbourne.

Restrictions include:

  • Masks are mandatory indoors, including the workplace, for everybody aged 12 and over unless an exemption applies.
  • Public gatherings limited to 30 people
  • Limiting private households to gatherings of 5 people

The restrictions also "follow" people leaving metropolitan Melbourne to wherever they are visiting in regional Victoria.

Macedon Ranges Shire Council's public facilities will remain open. The Scheduled Council Meeting to be held at 7pm on Wednesday 26 May will only be accessible to the public to watch online.

Council encourages residents to check the list of exposure sites.
