Covid Community Grants Program to provide support to those hit by lockdown

Wollondilly Council

Wollondilly Council has opened a special round of community grants today in response to the current Covid-19 outbreak in NSW.

The new program offers grants to Wollondilly based not-for-profit charitable organisations to provide support to residents experiencing severe financial hardship as a result of Covid-19 related loss of income.

Wollondilly Mayor Robert Khan is encouraging local community groups to check their eligibility and apply.

"Council has allocated $50,000 to this special Covid-19 Community Grants Program so that community organisations can help residents and rate payers impacted by the current Covid-19 restrictions," he said.

"We know personal income has been reduced due to job cutbacks and loss of hours, and we will be working with our Wollondilly based organisations to make sure everyone is supported during this time," he said.

Eligible organisations should complete the application form on Council's website, providing an overview of their proposed program, eligibility criteria, monitoring and evaluation strategies.

Applications should not exceed $10,000. A maximum pool of $50,000 is available in this funding round.

The Covid-19 Community Grants program opens on 30 August 2021 and closes 24 September 2021. Successful applicants will be contacted in October 2021.

Grant guidelines and application forms can be found on Council's website.
