This Direction follows the three day lockdown for Southern Tasmania announced today here by Tasmanian health authorities.
Southern Tasmania includes the Local Government Areas of:
· Brighton Council
· Central Highlands Council
· Clarence City Council
· Derwent Valley Council
· Glamorgan-Spring Bay Council
· Glenorchy City Council
· Hobart City Council
· Huon Valley Council
· Kingborough Council
· Sorell Council
· Southern Midlands Council
· Tasman Council
Strict border controls are in place for all people travelling to the NT from a declared hotspot or public exposure site. The border controls prohibit entry into the NT except for returning residents, or those who have obtained prior approval to enter.
People from Southern Tasmania with an approved exemption to travel to the NT and who arrive after 05.00pm today, will be required to undertake 14 days of mandatory supervised quarantine at the Alice Springs or Howard Springs quarantine facilities.
Anyone who is already in the NT who has been to Southern Tasmania since Tuesday 12 October 2021 must quarantine in a suitable place immediately, get a COVID-19 test and remain in isolation until a negative test is returned.
A Direction is already in place for those people who are in the NT who have been to Tasmania since 1 October 2021 to check COVID-19 public exposure sites and monitor for symptoms.

The CHO will continue to review and assess the COVID-19 situation across Australia, and will take into account COVID-19 monitoring and data collection, the extent of community transmission and risks to the NT community.
