Cows euthanised, man charged in Northern Region

A man will face court charged with animal cruelty offences on the state’s north coast, NSW Police say.

About 7pm on Tuesday 22 May 2018, police attended a property on Wards Road, Aldavilla, 11km west of Kempsey, after receiving concerns for the welfare of cattle.

Officers from the Mid North Coast Police District located two dead cows inside a machinery shed and two other cows in a poor condition.

As a result, the RSPCA were notified and the two remaining cows were euthanised on site.

A 67-year-old man was issued with a Court Attendance Notice for convey animal unjustifiably inflict pain and being in charge of an animal fail to provide vet treatment (x2).

The man will appear in Kempsey Local Court on Monday 16 July 2018.
