Cradle Mountain helicopter rescue, TAS

At 1.30pm today the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to attend Cradle Mountain, near Boulder Pass on the summit track, to an injured walker.  The Polish Tourist had fallen while walking on the track and had sustained a deep laceration to his forehead and had an injury to his lower left leg, Tasmania Police say.

The flight paramedic and rescue crewman exited the helicopter at the hover.  A short time later the injured man was winched into the helicopter with the paramedic.  He was transported to Launceston Airport where Ambulance Tasmania were waiting to transport the man to the Launceston General Hospital.

The weather conditions were near perfect with sunny weather and light winds.
