Crash at Flag Staff Gully Link Road, Mornington

Police are investigating a crash involving a motorcycle and a car at Mornington around 1.30pm today.

A 26-year-old male motorcyclist was travelling towards the Mornington Roundabout on Flagstaff Gully Link Road when a small delivery van driven by a 30-year-old woman turned right onto the Tasman Highway on ramp in front of the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist has collided with the rear passenger side of the delivery van which has caused the rider to come off the bike, which blocked one lane for some time.

The rider of the motorcycle was triaged at the scene and initially his injuries were reported as being serious. He was transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital for further treatment. Police have been informed that he has not received any life-threatening injuries.

The female driver did not receive any injuries from the crash.

Police Crash Investigation Services and Forensic Services attended the scene to complete further investigations.

This is a timely reminder to keep good observations for motorcyclists.
