Crash on Sturt Highway at Truro, SA

Traffic restrictions are in place after serious crash on the Sturt Highway at Truro overnight, according to SA Police.

A truck and car collided on the Sturt Highway, at the top of Accommodation Hill, at 2.40am on Thursday 21 September.

The driver of the car sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, however, his condition is not considered life-threatening.

The truck driver was not physically injured.

The truck was carrying a load of chickens, but the cargo remained intact during the collision.

Traffic is restricted to one lane being opened up for alternate traffic while emergency services work to clear the scene. Police are hoping to have traffic flowing in both directions by about 7.30am.

Nuriootpa Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the collision.
