Create NSW Grants Multi-year Funds to Art Gallery, Museum

Wagga Wagga Art Gallery and Museum of the Riverina have been successful in securing multi-year funding through Create NSW to support the delivery of exhibitions, programs and initiatives over the next two and three years respectively.

Funding of $220,000 was secured for the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery for two years ($110K annually) under Create NSW's Arts and Cultural Funding Program.

This funding will go toward delivering a program of contemporary exhibitions, public programs, residencies and artist commissions at the Art Gallery throughout 2026 and 2027.

Multi-year funding of $300,000 over three years ($100K annually) was also secured for the Museum of the Riverina to support the delivery of exhibitions, community engagement programs and a range of projects during 2026, 2027 and 2028.

Acting Director Community Carly Hood said the funding from Create NSW is a welcome boost for these cultural facilities.

"Receiving the multi-year funding of a combined $520,000 for the Art Gallery and Museum through the Arts and Cultural Funding Program is great outcome," Ms Hood said.

"It supports the two cultural facilities to develop and tour exhibitions to Wagga Wagga, supports local artists and creatives, and provides opportunities for community participation and engagement in a wide range of programs that will be on offer over the next few years.

"This funding is also supporting the ongoing digitisation of the Museum's permanent collection.

"The purchase of equipment such as lighting and a sight screen has enabled the Museum staff to take quality photos to be used in digital records for all the collection items."
