Creative Partnerships Australia Board appointments

The Morrison Government has appointed Ms Catherine Walter AM to the Board of Creative Partnerships Australia. Her three year term as Chair commences 16 December 2018 and she will commence as a Director immediately.

Ms Walter is widely recognised for her contribution to the not-for-profit and arts sectors. She is a former Commissioner of the City of Melbourne, former Chair of Federation Square and former director of Melbourne International Arts Festival, Major Performing Arts Board, Victorian Opera and the Australian Ballet School. She is currently a Trustee of the Helen Macpherson Smith Trust.

Ms Walter has extensive legal, financial and governance experience. She is currently Chair of the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority and the inaugural Chair of the Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance, as well as a Director of the Reserve Bank's Payments System Board and the Australian Foundation Investment Company.

In 2003, Ms Walter was made a Member of the Order of Australia for service to business, particularly as a director of a range of public companies, to the arts, to the law, and to the community through the Melbourne City Council. Her knowledge of the sector and demonstrated commitment to the arts will be a valuable asset for the Board.

The Morrison Government thanks the outgoing Chair of Creative Partnerships Australia, Ms Carol Schwartz AM, for her service and longstanding passionate commitment to the arts sector. Her leadership and strategic vision has expertly guided the organisation for the past six years and she leaves Creative Partnerships well placed for ongoing success.

The Government has also reappointed Mr Dan Rosen as Director for a three year term. Mr Rosen has served on the Board since 2015 and held previous roles in the arts sector including Chair of the NSW Government Creative Industries Taskforce and Board Member of Circus Oz. He is currently CEO of the Australian Recording Industry Association and the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia.

Creative Partnerships Australia is a Commonwealth company established to encourage and facilitate philanthropy, sponsorship and social investment in the arts in Australia.
