Cricket Victoria is pleased to announce it has extended its 10-year partnership with safety partner Masuri for another four years.
As Cricket Victoria's official helmet and neck protection supplier, Masuri will continue to provide integral safety equipment to Cricket Victoria's elite team programs.
To further support cricket at all levels in Victoria, Masuri and Cricket Victoria will collaborate to introduce integrated neck protection as a standard feature across Masuri's entire cricket helmet range.
From 1 July 2026, every new Masuri cricket helmet will be supplied pre-fitted with neck protection, covering junior, senior and professional models.
The change will increase uptake of neck protection by making it part of Masuri's helmet from the outset, rather than an optional accessory added later.
Cricket Victoria's General Manager Government Relations and Strategic Partnerships, Dylan Prescott, said it was fantastic to continue building on the partnership.
"We're thrilled to be partnering with Masuri for another four years, extending an already fruitful relationship into the next phase," Prescott said.
"Player welfare is a priority for Cricket Victoria, and we welcome practical initiatives that make protective equipment easier for players to adopt.
"Our longstanding partnership with Masuri has consistently focused on improving safety outcomes across the game.
"Masuri's decision to supply helmets with fitted neck protection as standard is a positive step, and Cricket Victoria is pleased to support this evolution in product delivery."
Masuri CEO, Sam Miller, said making neck protection standard on its helmets was an important advancement.
"When protection is optional, uptake will always be inconsistent," Miller said.
"By fitting neck protection as standard, we are making the safer choice the easiest choice.
"Cricket Victoria has a powerful voice across community and professional cricket, and its support will be important in helping players, parents, clubs and retailers understand the change."
To enable the move, Masuri has developed StemGuard Lite 2.0 - a lightweight, pre-curved, single-piece neck protector designed to be compatible across its current helmet range.
Further safety-focused activity will be announced ahead of the 2026-27 cricket season.
