Cricket Victoria has announced a new partnership with Matador, the BBQ brand renowned for creating exceptional outdoor cooking experiences.
Built on the shared belief that cricket clubs are at the heart of local communities, the partnership will launch a state-wide community cricket club campaign, offering Victorian clubs the chance to win a Premium Matador BBQ prize pack.
The initiative will invite clubs from across Victoria to apply, with winners to be selected by demonstrating how they foster inclusive and welcoming environments that bring players, volunteers, families and communities together beyond match day.
Cricket and BBQ's have long been central to Australian culture, and the partnership will celebrate the moments that matter most – shared meals, great conversation and the connections formed around them.
Cricket Victoria's GM of Consumer Business, Dylan Prescott, said:
"Matador aligns strongly with Cricket Victoria's values around performance, inclusion and community. This partnership delivers practical, on-the-ground support for cricket clubs by creating spaces that bring people together and enhance participation at all levels of the game."
Bunnnings' GM of Marketing, Justine Mills, said:
"Cricket and having a barbeque are at the heart of Aussie mateship. With Cricket Victoria, we're bringing the two together with our premium Matador BBQ Pack- helping clubs and communities connect over great food, great conversation and lasting memories shared around a Matador."
Cricket Victoria and Matador are inviting applications from vibrant, community-focused cricket clubs that champion inclusion, promote genuine equal opportunity for all members, and demonstrate sustainable women's and girls cricket programs as a core part of their community offering.
