Cricket Victoria Reveals Female U16 Country and Metro Squads for 2026/27

Cricket Victoria is excited to unveil its U16 Female Emerging Players Programs for the 2026-27 season.

Working directly with Cricket Victoria's High-Performance coaching staff and experienced Premier Cricket coaches, identified U16 players will spend 12 weeks developing their game technically, tactically, physically and mentally as they continue to learn about being part of a High-Performance Program.

Pre-season programs include training sessions at Junction Oval that focus on skill development, physical preparation, fielding, mental skills, and centre-wicket/match opportunities.

"These squads are a testament to the strength of our talent pathway, with Community and Premier Clubs playing a significant role in developing players who continue to embrace every opportunity throughout the pathway competitions," said Female Talent Development Manager, Cassandra Brock.

The U16 squads will see Metro players April Chaudhary (Geelong CC), Anushka Mehta (Prahran CC), Jasmine Freeman (Carlton CC), Divisha Shah (Ringwood CC) and Country player's Poppy Agg (Geelong CC) and Bella Bowles (Prahran CC) bring their knowledge in the program from last season to help lead the next group of players.

Former Australian players Karen Rolton and Cathryn Fitzpatrick, former Victorian Captain Kelly Applebee, and former Victorian and WBBL players Emma Inglis and Hayleigh Brennan will hold specialist coaching roles in the U16 program.

The U16s Victoria Country and Metro teams will be selected ahead of the Cricket Australia National Championships, with locations and dates to be announced by Cricket Australia.
