Crime on design in Cremorne

designer clothing worth $20,000 was stolen in Cremorne earlier this month.

Police have been told an unknown offender smashed the front glass door of a store on Cubitt Street about 8.30pm on Sunday 11 August.

It is believed the thief stole 50 to 60 items of clothing from a rack at the front of the store and fled the scene in a vehicle.

The offender had his face covered and was wearing a cap, grey hooded jumper, dark pants and gloves.

Detectives have released images of a man who they believe may be able to assist them with their enquiries.

Investigators are also investigating whether an incident at a store South Yarra store is linked.

During that incident a man attended the store in July where he told employees he was a courier.
