Organised Crime Squad detectives have charged two men with alleged large scale drug supply in Sydney under Strike Force Torello.
Strike Force Torello was established by State Crime Command's Organised Crime Squad in November 2024 to investigate an alleged criminal group's involvement in the supply of large commercial quantities of prohibited drugs across Sydney.
Following extensive inquiries, about 6.25am today (Wednesday 21 May 2025), strike force detectives – with assistance from Central Metropolitan Region Operational Support Group ODIN – executed three search warrants in Bexley, Punchbowl and Padstow.
At the Bexley address, detectives arrested a 41-year-old man. He was taken to Kogarah Police Station, where he was charged with eight offences, including four counts of supply prohibited drug >indictable & = commercial quantity, supply prohibited drug >= large commercial quantity and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.
The man was refused bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court today.
In Padstow, police arrested a 35-year-old man. He was taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he was charged with seven offences, including supply prohibited drug >= large commercial quantity, supply prohibited drug >= commercial quantity, two counts of supply prohibited drug >indictable & $100000.
The man was refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court today.
During the searches, police located and seized approximately 1.7kg of cocaine, approximately $130,000 cash, a money counter, 186 grams of MDMA, two mobile phones, two tracking devices, two luxury watches, capsicum spray and nun-chucks.
Police will allege in court, between January and April 2025, the older man coordinated the supply and sale of more than 1.25kgs of prohibited drugs with the younger man's assistance.
