Criminal Groups Squad Charge Gunmen In Casula Shooting

Criminal Groups Squad detectives have charged two men for their alleged roles in an attack on a Casula home last month, where more than 50 rounds were fired from a semi-automatic weapon.

About 2.20am on Saturday 15 November 2025, officers attached to Liverpool Police Area Command responded to reports that shots had been fired into a home on MacKellar Street in Casula.

On arrival, police found that over 50 rounds had been fired into the home in what is currently being treated as a targeted attack.

No persons were home at the time, nor were there any reports of any person being injured.

Local police established a crime scene and the matter was referred to State Crime Command's Criminal Groups Squad under Strike Force Cornville.

Investigations have established that at least two men travelled to the Casula address in a stolen black Audi S5 sedan bearing cloned plates.

The passenger exited the vehicle and fired at least 52 rounds at the home using a semi-automatic weapon, before leaving a threatening note at the address on a piece of cardboard.

The men fled in the car, which was found abandoned at Claremont Circuit in Wattle Grove about 5.20pm on Tuesday 18 November 2025.

On Thursday 27 November 2025, a high-risk search warrant was executed at a home on Phillip Street in Waterloo.

At the address, a 19-year-old man was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station, where he was charged with over his alleged role moving the car used in the Casula shooting.

He appeared before Bail Division Cout 7 on Friday 28 November 2025, where he was formally refused bail to appear in Fairfield Local Court on Wednesday 21 January 2026.

Following further extensive inquiries, about 10.35am on Monday 1 December 2025, strike force detectives arrested a 20-year-old man at Parramatta Police Station.

The man was charged with 18 offences, including:

  • Discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm
  • Fire firearm at dwelling etc organised criminal activity
  • Possess unauthorised prohibited firearm
  • Possess unauthorised pistol
  • Acquire etc pistol-subject to firearms prohibition order
  • Acquire etc prohibited firearm-subject prohibition order
  • Three counts of possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit
  • Use prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order
  • Two counts of possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority
  • Two counts of acquire etc ammunition subject to prohibition order
  • Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner
  • Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime
  • Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity
  • Possess DECCD to commit etc serious criminal activity

He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 2 December 2025, where police will allege he was the gunman in the attack.

Investigations under Strike Force Cornville continue.
