Critical Financial Counselling now available for flood-affected Norther Rivers communities

Lifeline North Coast

In response to the recent flooding crisis in the Northern Rivers, Lifeline North Coast have partnered with Newcastle Permanent and Greater Bank to deliver face to face financial counselling to the region.

Lifeline CEO Miko Smith said 'We run a gambling program in the region, however for this 30 days we will be focusing on minimising financial grief from this event'.

Counsellors will provide guidance on insurance claims relating to financial loss from floods, also guidance on financial problems and how to solve these relating to bills.

This joint funding from Newcastle Permanent and Greater Bank will enable Lifeline North Coast to provide the community over the next month with practical support aimed at reducing the initial distress and embedding long-term coping mechanisms in the community to minimise the risk of further harm as a result of this event.

This free service for Northern Rivers residents will be available from Monday 14th March, 2022.

To book in a face to face or telephone consultation with our team of counsellors please text 0467 933 855.
